Free Coldplay Day

Let today be Free Coldplay Day. You can go to Coldplay's official website and download a song, Violet Hill, from their new album "Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends," (artwork above) which will be out in June.

The song sounds like your typical Coldplay (compliment) and has a standard production by Brian Eno (another compliment) to help the band's great mix of piano melody and distinct guitar.

Chris Martin always has always been a conscientious soul (READ: cares about the world around him), so it is no surprise that he would have something free for the fans. It's not jumping on the Free MP3 bandwagon as others, too, are doing it. It's because the band believes it's a good thing to do. And perhaps, of course, a shot across the bow to the record industry.
