Bret Michaels Plays Game To Raise Money For Diabetes

Posted April 30th, 2008 by admin

Tomorrow night (9-10pm est) Bret Michaels will be on the FOX television show, Don't Forget the Lyrics. Some have already commented that Michaels is doing this because he is hungry for air-time, and/or promoting himself and Poison. That may be part of it — and you can't necessarily blame him for that, he is an entertainer afterall — but really the appearance is about raising money for juvenile diabetes.

Michaels has diabetes himself and knows the hardship. This is a great opportunity to use his celebrity to help others. I commend him for it. Don't Forget The Lyrics is cheesey, I'm sure (never watched it), but whatever it takes to raise awareness in the mainstream about how horrible a disease diabetes can be, so be it.

Michaels jokes on the show that he himself has forgotten lyrics to his own songs — and they're not exactly profound statements either — but let's hope he wins.
